On the sideline of the first joint meeting of the Omani-Yemeni Businessmen Council, Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), organised a seminar titled ‘Economic horizons between the Sultanate and the Yemeni Republic’. At the beginning of the seminar, Anwar bin Ali bin Sultan, head of the Omani side at the council, said that the Sultanate and the Yemeni Republic are tied with deep-rooted historic relations which currently have become stronger thanks to the good environment created by governments of both countries to enhance level of partnership and cooperation, especially in joint economic and investment field. The private sector in the two countries should promote these relations to meet the level of aspirations, he said, adding that the Joint Business Council should assist the private sector in both the countries, facilitate exchange of information, avail investment opportunities, eliminate barriers that could hinder promoting exchange and partnership in various trade, economic and industrial spheres. The seminar was attended by Khalil bin Abdullah Al Khonji, OCCI chairman; the Yemeni ambassador to the Sultanate, and a number of businessmen and officials at the public and private sectors.
