Former Civil Servants Urge Authorities to Uphold Constitutional Integrity in 2024 Elections

In a significant move, more than 100 former civil servants from both Central and State governments, united under the Constitutional Conduct Group, issued a joint statement on May 18. They urged the President of India to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution and the law, emphasizing their commitment to the ideals enshrined in the Constitution of India.

The signatories, on behalf of the citizens of India, reminded authorities and institutions responsible for the democratic process of their paramount duty to uphold the Constitution. They reiterated the oath taken by these officials at the time of assuming office.
