A Shiv Sena activist, Bablu, allegedly uploaded an imaginary photograph of the prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be to him) and posted some insolent wordsagainst him on the social networking site Facebook. The Muslims of Makrana, Rajasthantook to the streets soon after the news broke and organised a protest march on 3 April to register their complaint. A protestor claimed that the police denied registering FIR against the activist earlier but they lodged the same after intervention of some social activists. The culprit has been arrested and the objectionable matter removed from the site. Several people were injured in police lathicharge.
