GIO Telangana Orientation Program 2024 Unveils Vision and Strategy

The Girls Islamic Organisation (GIO) embarked on its journey for the term 2024 with the commencement of the “Orientation Programme for Office Bearers.” Held on Sunday and Monday, the event gathered GIO office bearers from state and city levels, including unit presidents, secretaries, campus organizers, and other in-charges. The program aimed to welcome new leaders, provide orientation for their upcoming term, and outline GIO’s policy and program for 2024.

Stressing the importance of team building and societal connections, Dr. Khalid underscored the value of early engagement in the organization to yield greater productivity.

The inaugural session featured a keynote address by Uzma Begum, a member of GIO Telangana Zonal Advisory Council. Emphasizing the ultimate goal of Jannah, members were encouraged to draw inspiration from the struggles of Palestine. A dedicated session expressed GIO’s solidarity with Palestine, featuring members from the women’s wing of JIH Telangana.

Participants were organized into three batches for concurrent sessions explaining policies across departments. The sessions concluded with an open forum with the zonal team, providing an opportunity for interaction with zonal leaders.

Sister Munazzah Zarreen, a Member of National Federation of GIO and GIO Telangana Zonal Advisory Council conducted an interactive session on the Prophet’s (ﷺ) approach to Tarbiyah.

Brother Talha Faiyazuddin, Assistant Director of Tarbiyatgah, JIH Telangana, led a workshop on ‘Islam and Life Skills,’ focusing on stress management, emotional regulation, resilience, listening skills, conflict management, effective communication, and executive function skills. The workshop included activities to deepen participants’ understanding of these essential life skills.

The program concluded with a session featuring JIH Telangana state leaders. Mr. Abul Karam Mushtaq, General Secretary, JIH Telangana, highlighted women’s significant contributions to Islam across various fields.

Closing remarks from Sister Maseera Firdous, the State President of GIO Telangana, emphasized the implementation of planned policies and continual evaluation for clarity on progress direction.
