“The victims of the last year’s Gopalgarh police firing, which resulted in the loss of lives of 10 Muslims and injured more than 30, are yet to get justice, even after the passage of full one year,” said Engineer Khurshid Husain, State Secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Rajasthan, in a meeting of the members discussing the condition of the state. “The guilty officers have been reinstated after their brief suspension because of the lazy attitude of the CBI, which could not produce a charge-sheet in the case even after a year of the incident,” said the Jamaat leader.
Recently when the government planned to suspend the 17 police officers as a punishment for their actions, a Congress leader built pressure on the administration and stopped their transfer. The Jamaat leader condemned such succumbing of the administration and demanded speedy investigation so as to bring the perpetrators to justice.
