Akhil Bharatiya Muslim Yuva Ekta Committee staged a march at Jantar Mantar in the Capital on May 3 to protest the staged encounter killing of Sohrabuddin Sheikh and burning of his wife Kauser Bi, and demand immediate dismissal of BJP government of Gujarat.
“The Narendra Modi government of Gujarat is out and out communal. It allowed the brutal killing of thousands of Muslims in Gujarat genocide 2002 and the killing spree has been continuing ever since,” said the Committee’s president Muhammad Shakeel Saifi while addressing the gathering.  Mr Saifi added that there is no legal scope for the Modi administration to continue as it has confessed before the Supreme Court that the staged encounter victim’s wife was also done to death after the staged encounter killing of Sohrabuddin. He called upon President A.P.J. Abul Kalam as well as the Union Government to sack the Modi government forthwith, impose President Rule in the State and subject the architect of State terrorism Narendra Modi to due punishment.
Led by Mr Shakeel Saifi, the workers of Ekta Committee carried a symbolic pyre of Narendra Modi and raised slogans against him. They were also carrying placards which read: We Demand President Rule in Gujarat, etc. Mr Saifi announced that his organisation would launch a movement against the communal agenda of Narendra Modi in cities like Ahmedabad, Godhra and Surat. He also invited the secular forces to come together to fight against the ever rising pace of communalism.
