In a brave step, a bride in Kathar village under Buxar district of Bihar refused to marry her groom because the groom and his father were drunk in the marriage ceremony. A repeated effort from the groom-side to persuade her failed and they were forced to go back empty-handed after intervention of Mukhiya.
Reports say that the bride was all set to tie the knot with the groom who belonged to the village Hasan Bazar under Bhojpur district of Bihar on 6 January. Soon before the marriage, the villagers came to know that both the groom and his father were drunk. When the news reached the bride, she refused to marry him saying how an alcoholic could take care of her!
