No doubt India has grown not only arrogant but extremely cruel and inhuman in its policies towards the weaker nations. This is what Chankya’s political philosophy teaches. Whatever Gandhi, Tagore and Buddha taught has been replaced by this Hindutva paradigm and rays of good hope are getting dim.

It was the bad governance of the Congress and pacification and their appeasement stance towards the closed mind Hindu hawks both inside the party and outside which has given Hindutva courage to become so evil a force to control all shades of ‘secular’ philosophy’ of Nehru. In fact, ‘secularism’ did not take roots in the society and remained confined within a limited class of intellectuals.

It is most unfortunate state of affairs for the people of the Indian subcontinent. If one does not mind, I will say our Muslim rulers are also responsible for all the tragedies which people of the subcontinent especially Muslims have faced and are still facing. Had they done their work as the men of real Dawah of Islam, the face of the subcontinent would have been entirely different. But God’s scheme of things is HIS will.

It’s More a Voice for Humanity…

Discrimination on the basis of caste, creed and religion is not a new phenomenon in India. Such plagues have engulfed India since ancient era when many Hindus deliberately converted to Islam or other lesser known religions in which they found solace and least discriminatory treatment.

The views of social scientists Professor Jayati Ghosh and Dr. Rahul Ramagundam (Cover Story, Radiance Viewsweekly, 10-16 May 2015) speak up the true picture of revived discrimination meted out to religious and social minorities in India. Such scenes have flourished more once the government led by upper caste Hindus took the helm of the affairs.

Radiance needs to bring such issues into limelight and prove that it is more a voice for humanity than the voice of Muslims, as is understood by narrow-minded media fraternity. The need of the hour is to understand the message of Radiance through carrying such thought-provoking write-ups that overhaul Indians to observe the farsightedness of a team involved in the publication of alternative media that has started doing the role of mainstream media which have forgotten its primary goal.

Congress’ Loss of Muslim Vote

It’s really amazing to read that the Congress Party is planning to take some fresh measures to attract the minority community. While being in power for 15 long years, they did not bother to take any initiative for the progress, prosperity and development of minorities. In their era things like arresting of innocent Muslim youth in false cases; and killing Muslim youths in fake encounters happened.

They did not implement the recommendations of Srikrishna Commission Report and did not make Muslim reservation for 15 years of their rule in the state, but at the last moment to fool the community an order of 5% reservation was only announced but not passed by the Assembly. So it was duly thrown out by the present government.

In facts, it’s not the responsibility of only Muslims to defeat communal forces in every election and why should we do that? What the Congress coalition did for the Muslims and why should we vote for them? The community should not be fooled again and again by the so-called secular forces.

Minorities in India Face Attacks

Religious minorities in India have been subjected to violent attacks in cases like forced conversions and ghar wapsi campaigns by sangh parivar (RSS, BJP and Bajrang Dal, etc.) after Modi government came to power in 2014.

The US Commission on International Religious freedom (US-CIRF), in its 2015 report, asked Obama administration to press Indian government to publicly rebuke religious leaders who make derogatory remarks about communities and to boost religious freedom standards in India, but the Government of India dismissed the latest report of US-CIRF. The Ministry of External Affairs issued a statement dismissing report stating that it was based on limited understanding of India, its Constitution and its society.
