Hamas urges int’l community to compel Israel to act on ICJ decisions

The court issued provisional measures against Israel to prevent genocide against Palestinian people living in Gaza. South Africa had filed the application seeking urgent directions to Israel to act as per its obligations under the Genocide Convention.

Welcoming the International Court of Justice’s decision, the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas on Friday called upon the international community to compel  Israel to implement the court decisions and stop the “crime of genocide”, which continues against the people of occupied Palestine.

The court issued provisional measures against Israel to prevent genocide against Palestinian people living in Gaza. South Africa had filed the application seeking urgent directions to Israel to act as per its obligations under the Genocide Convention.

In a statement, Hamas said, “We welcome the decision of the International Court of Justice in The Hague, which has proven accusing the occupying power of genocide,… and this decision means Stop all forms of aggression against our Palestinian people in Gaza.

“We call on the international community to compel the enemy to implement the court decisions and stop the “crime of genocide”, which continues against our people, and we look forward to the final decisions of the court to condemn the occupying state to commit the crime of “genocide”, war crimes and crimes against humanity, and the decision opens the way for enemy leaders accountable for these crimes….
