Shahi Iman Syed Ahmed Bukhari, welcoming the noted social activist Anna Hazare’s public supported movement for Lokpal Bill against corruption said, “The movement will really encourage those elements who are aspiring for corruption-free, transparent system in the country. Maulana Bukhari said Anna Hazare wants to make the country free of corruption but it is also necessary to make the country free of communalism, narrow mindedness, partiality and hatred. Maulana Bukhari expressed his grief that after the independence no one has started a single public movement to provide justice to the Muslims who are affected by continuing communalism, narrow-mindedness and partiality. He said in 1993 in Mumbai the heinous communal riot against Muslims had erupted in the state of Anna Hazare but he remained silent. Why he did not launch a hunger strike? Why Hazare didn’t become agitated after the massive communal riots in Gujarat and why he didn’t speak even a single word against the Modi government?
He said that the Muslims should learn a lesson from the Anna Hazare’s movement that if they do have some problems they themselves should take up their case and no one else will fight for their cause. The Maulana said that in the name of fighting terrorism and bomb blasts thousands of innocent Muslims have been sent behind the bars.
