Bombay High Court, on 17 December, reserved its order on the bail plea of two senior police officials involved in the fake encounter of Sohrabuddin Shaikh in 2005. The hearing on the bail plea of two other officials arrested in the same case will be held on January 4. However, the court has accepted the crime is of high level and stringent punishment is required.
There were 16 persons arrested for their alleged involvement in the fake encounter of Sohrabuddin Shaikh and immolation of his wife Kausar Bi and eight among them have been released on bail including Amit Shah, former minister of Gujarat.
