Addition of a Health Care column in your magazine is a welcome idea. Dr Anis Ansari in his article on Pulmonary Hypertension (Radiance, 4-10 August) seems to have missed gauging the readership of the magazine. His article seemed a tad too high for the general medical practitioners, far below the expectations of medical consultants and definitely nowhere near the horizons of the general public, who form the bulk of the readers. Simple First Aids tips with explanations like: “Prompt pouring of cold water on burns”; “Pressure bandage & elevation of bleeding limbs to control bleeding”; “Never attempt feeding an unconscious person” would be of more use to the readers. Perhaps articles in simple lucid language on the common diseases would also be a better idea rather than discussing rare medical disorders in terminology incomprehensible to the majority of the readers.
