The Muslim villagers of Bhauraj Pur Kalan under Utrolia police station of Azamgrh distric in Uttar Pradesh, on 13 November, approached Superintendent of Police, Arvind Sen, and alleged that their co-villagers, hailing from the majority community, are constantly threatening them of their lives and property. The villagers alleged that Ram Lakhan, who is a professional criminal and said to have carried out several crimes including murder, always gatecrash their houses and threaten them to repeat Muzaffarnagar-like operation in the village.

As per the statement of villagers, Lakhan along with other villagers attacked Perwez s/o Mohd Anwar on 6 October while he was on his way back to the village from the city. On 7 October, the Lakhan gang allegedly attacked Muslim houses with lathi and country-made pistols. Following it the villagers lodged an FIR but the police did not take any action against them. This boosted the intent of the gang and they continued their game. On 8 November, the gang once again attacked Muslim villagers and threatened to wait until they create a Muzaffarnagar-like scene in the village. No action has been taken yet.
