The final population figure of Census 2011 for the Haryana State, released on 22 May, reveals that the areas with high literacy rate has lowest sex ratio while the localities with comparably poor rate of literacy are very high on sex ratio. Gurgaon, Sonepat and Jhajjar are three worst states in term of sex ratio. These districts have 854, 856 and 862 girls respectively per one thousand of boys while Mewat and Fatehabad topped the list with 907 and 902 girls per one thousand of boys respectively. When it comes to the literacy rate, Gurgaon takes the lead with 84.7 per cent whereas Mewat has lowest rate of literacy where only 54.1 per cent citizens are recorded as literate.
