Urdu Academy started an Urdu Learning Course for Non-Urdu journalists at Press Club of India on October 15. About 38 journalists have registered themselves for the course till now. It is interesting to know that journalists from all Non-Urdu newspapers as well as from different Television channels are among those who applied for the course.
Meanwhile, the Government of Delhi has included the Urdu language in 55 new schools across the capital. One hundred new Urdu teachers (TGTs) would be appointed for this job on contractual basis. “We have been trying for the same since 1995. Now the success is here,” said Prof. Akhtarul Wase, vice chairman Urdu Academy, Delhi.
