The terrorising war, initiated by two terrorist minds, is raging ferociously and destabilising the whole world. It has very dangerous portents ahead for foreseeable future and long-lasting consequences for decades ahead.
India is one of the countries severely affected by the lengthening shadows of this furious war. The prices of LPG, CNG and other sources of energy are steadily surging and have severely affected the already overburdened middle class and the poorest majority of the have-nots. Our industrial output had been already under stress because of our faulty economic policies and more talks and less action. Poor sections of society, from the largest part of our population are under back-breaking stress. How long can they sustain themselves on 5 kg doles of ration?
The Modi government has built its policies on polarisation, divide and rule, and Hindu-versus-Muslim narrative. This narrative has become shriller because of the forthcoming 5 states assembly elections. It was very unfortunate that our Prime Minister visited Israel and assured the kingpin of the present devastating war, Netanyahu, of his solid support to wage a war against Iran. His stance was in complete contravention of our long-lasting policies of supporting peace and opposing warmongering. Modi went ahead with his narrative of calling Israel the ‘fatherland’ of not only himself but of us all, poor un-consulted citizens also. The entire world is laughing on our follies and fallacious policies. Within 36 hours from PM Modi’s return from Israel, this war against Iran started. Most of the countries of the world believe that Modi is hand in glove with Netanyahu and he is blindly toing the US-Israel line. Many in India interpret this as Modi being under some pressure of Israel. Some circles suggest that it may have to do something with the Epstein Files also. This is an unfortunate example of ruler’s fault and citizen’s punishment.
Prime Minister Modi is so compromised that he neither condemned nor condoled the violent death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was also a very respected religious leader of the Muslim world. Mr. Modi is maintaining a calculated silence on the US torpedo attack on an Iranian ship which was returning from India from a non-military exercise.
It is extremely condemnable that Mr. Modi is on the side of terror and war and not on the side of peace and harmony. Modi’s foolishness has deprived India of her high moral ground. In spite of being the current head of BRICS, which is now a powerful international group representing more than 50 per cent population of the world, Modi could not gather sufficient courage to condemn the war or at least plead for peace. History and Indian people will never forgive this grievous misstep by our PM.
Can we expect any corrective step even at this pitiable and unfortunate juncture?
