The poor of many states in India got a breather from the sky rocketing inflation in food prices. Recently Human Welfare Trust under the programme of “Vision 2016” distributed free Iftar kits to almost eleven thousand poor and destitute families. The states in which the distribution has taken place include Bihar, West Bengal, Assam, U.P., Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, M.P., Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Punjab, Rajasthan, Delhi and Haryana. The cost of the whole iftar kit is around Rs. 1500 and it has food items that will suffice a family for a month. The National Coordinator of Vision 2016, Mr. Salimullah Khan said previous year Human Welfare Trust distributed the iftar kits to nine thousand families. Last year during Ramadhan, Human Welfare Trust, in Delhi organized iftar for a large number of poor people which mostly included rickshaw pullers and labourers. The main objective of the Trust is to reach out to the poor and extend financial support to them so that they too can have iftar like everyone else.
