By the grace of Allah India is steadily marching forward in multiple fields. It is happening in spite of defective governance, inefficient government machinery and lethargy and lack of hard work by a big chunk of workers. The things become more complicated because of irresponsible attitude of political workers and rivalry, corruption and lust for power and use of money, muscle and illegal means by politicians.
India, because of its population dividend, vast natural resources and inherent abilities of educated classes has the potential to become, if not Vishwa Guru, at least one of leading nations of the world.But there are certain basic hurdles which act as breaks in the progress of the country. One of the most important obstacles in our way is the dreaded phenomenon of use of communalism, and shameless misuse of religious prejudices to divide people and strengthen vote bank strategy of polarisation of people’s opinions. This tendency has poisoned the minds of crores of people and downgraded their mental level and forced them to think in very narrow and communal terms.
These dangerous trends can be seen in interreligious and intracommunity relations. The worst victims of the above-mentioned negative trends are the largest minority, the Muslims, who make one-seventh of India’s population. Politically, the Muslim representation in Parliament and State Assemblies has enormously reduced. There are frequent calls from communal elements to disenfranchise the Muslims. Even there have been countless calls for massacre of Muslims. There is no legal action against these fascists in spite of Supreme Court’s instructions. Islamophobia has become the most interesting pastime of communal politicians and their co-travellers. Weapons of misrepresentation, open lies and narrowmindedness are being utilised day in and day out.
The Muslims have been made the most marginalised, deprived, backward and disrespected segment of Indian population. Now, Jihad, which means strenuous struggle for a good cause, is the most misused word. This most positive concept is being misused as ‘love jihad’, ‘land jihad’, ‘narcotic jihad’ and even ‘thook jihad’. In a recent interview, Professor Apoorvanand has said that things have come to this level that every average Hindu believes that every Muslim has four wives and has fathered 25 children, which may turn the Hindu majority into a minority within just a few decades. Such nonsense is being peddled and the whole country is more than willing to fall prey to such falsehood. There cannot be any greater mental degradation than this. Hinduism is very broadminded basically. It has been spoiled into Hindutva for narrow political ends.
To save the soul of India, all that is good in the Hindu heritage must be protected. For this the Muhabbat ki dukan in the Nafrat ka bazar must be protected and preserved. Otherwise, this great and the most populous country would be destroyed. Muslims must show patience and forbearance. Fight peacefully but forcefully to save India from fascism. They owe this to the country and the Hindu majority. We must rest assured that we are not alone in our noble struggle. The Hindu majority will struggle side by side with us. Love and peace will finally win and hate and warmongering will fail and be defeated. So God help us!
