There has been uproar since the horrific rape incident took place in the capital and indeed the furore must be there. However, the demands that the people are making in order to put an end to rape seems to be naïve. The article “Finding Ultimate Solution to Crimes against Women” (Radiance Viewsweekly, 30 December 2012 – 5 January 2013) gives the real solution to the problem. Most of the people are demanding stricter laws; however the fact of the matter is that the stricter laws alone would not be able to stem the rot. Islam gives the complete solution to this problem. At first it cultures the individuals in a way that they fear Allah in privacy as well as in open and then it orders women to dress modestly. This brings the situation in control and if an incident occurs then it orders capital punishment. Hence Islam deals with the situation in totality and does not do any patch up work. Bringing in stricter laws is a knee-jerk reaction and would not do any help as the society on the other hand is promoting all the filth and vulgarity which is the basic cause for the rise in such cases.
