Tough times ahead! New challenges and new political equations are on the horizon. The emergence of Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) represents the young generations and their disillusionment with the policies of the Modi government. Congress and all other Opposition parties are gradually uniting to put an end to the Modi misrule. Large sections of citizens feel that if they do not unite and fight even now, the country would be pushed into the darkness of dictatorship and fascism.

The main threat to this democratic struggle is generated because of the negative and questionable record of the suppression andcurbingof democracy by the BJP. The people feel that it is the strategy of the ruling dispensation to push the country into chaos and dictatorship, just to retain power, by hook or by crook. The nation feels that if it does not fight now, the country would be pushed into the abyss of an anti-democratic, anti-people, one-party rule. They fear that democracy would be banished for ever and people would be enslaved and only mentally enslaved generations will inhabit our country.

They point out how the BJP started its rule with the slogan of ‘Congress-muktBharat’, then it developed into anti-Muslim, anti-Dalit, anti-Adivasi and anti-people system. They remember how the BJP conspired to violate the fundamentals principles of the Constitution of India. How civil liberties were restrained and curtailed. It can be seen in the restrictions against the farmers, suppression of press freedom, and last but not the least the manipulation of electoral rolls, destabilisation of state governments, promotion of godi media and creation of fear, suspicion, hate and communal tensions among different communities.

The great majority of citizens all over the country, belonging to all sections and communities, fears that this is the last chance to protect the freedom of expression, dignity of citizens, integrity and independence of judiciary, and all that we dreamed and achieved when we broke the shackles of foreign rule and thus became a self-reliant and self-respecting independent nation. Thus, this is the hour in which we have to gird up our loins and fight with all our might to save democracy, Constitution, human rights, human dignity and a free and fair and transparent election system. May God bless us, all Indians, men and women, to safeguard our rights and choose our government on the basis of our free will and free choice.
