Mr. MK Bhadrakumar’s suggestions in the Hindu dated 25/12 are worth consideration. Our fight against terrorism is limited to Pakistan and its terrorist organizations. Now the US wants us to help it in war on terrorism in Afghanistan. It would be an unwanted burden on us. We can not fight the war of US .If we refer to the history of Afghanistan we see that no foreign power could rule Afghanistan for a longer period .After invasion and the subsequent retreat of the USSR the United States should not have interfered in Afghanistan. It is quite possible that Afghanistan may become a graveyard of American power as it happened in the case of Soviet Union. Beware! History has a tendency to repeat itself. Mr. Bhadrakumar has rightly advised India to formulate an independent foreign policy.
