India’s first-ever nationwide study published in the Lancet in UK and released to the media in India at the Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai on Mar 28, has revealed an interesting find that in States where Muslim population is higher, cervical cancer risk is “much lower.” For instance, Jammu and Kashmir and Assam, which have 75 and 40 per cent Muslim population respectively, have “less than a quarter of the national rates of cervical cancer,” the authors write. As seen internationally, circumcision in men greatly reduces the chances of sexual transmission of HPV virus. Women also had lower incidence of oral cancer.

This is once again a proof of the truth of Islam and an eye-opener for the world to realise the truth. Muslims have been practising circumcision and keeping from injurious habits and things like consumption of liquor and pre- and extra-marital sex just to please their Creator and Lord for over fourteen centuries. And this is why a Muslim society is always better from other societies so far as physical and moral health of society is concerned. It is high time people the world over studied the Divine wisdom in the teachings of Islam and changed their life for the better.
