The mammoth gathering of countless people, Hindus, Muslims and followers of all other faiths, at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi on Friday, August 22, 2025, is another proof that Indian people are against the Genocidal War of Netanyahu and war crimes being perpetrated against the 22 lakh innocent people of Gaza.
India as a country has been always supporting the cause of Palestine. The Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi had unequivocally declared that Palestine belongs to Palestinians as England belongs to Englishmen and France belongs to French citizens. All Indian governments who believed in human rights and human dignity had been always supporting the Palestine cause. It is extremely unfortunate that the present dispensation does not openly support the cause of freedom for the traumatised people of Palestine.
A few days ago, more than 100 former Indian bureaucrats, ambassadors and prominent intellectuals issued a joint statement condemning the war of attrition imposed upon the hapless population of Gaza in Palestine. It also condemned the unending atrocities in the West Bank, being committed with utmost impunity by the illegal settlers in the occupied West Bank.
The two years long war of extermination in Palestine has awakened the conscience of whole humanity as is evident from the continued protests in the whole world, including all western democracies. It is expected that in the next two months a very big number of western governments will openly declare their support for the recognition of Palestine as a free and sovereign country with full membership of the UNO.
The Arab governments also are in the mood of extending their support to Free Palestine. The entire population of 57 Muslim countries is fed up and dismayed on the genocidal Israeli war which has devastated 90% buildings and houses in Gaza, including mosques, hospitals and educational institutions. Palestine citizens are being killed as if they are not humans like us but flies and dogs. The whole humanity is appalled on the imposed hunger and dance of destruction by the most traumatising policies of the Dajjal of Israel.
India as a whole is for the end of war and recognition of independent Palestine, except the fascist and communal elements in the country. It is awaited when the Modi government, which is almost on the point of being voted out of power, stops the supply of weapons to Israel and openly supports the independent Palestinian state.
Countless people who participated in the protest in Delhi gave a clear message to the Modi government to change its policy of hobnobbing with the Netanyahu regime. The protest in Delhi and the support of all democratic elements and intellectuals have given a clear message to the government to stop its questionable support to the genocidal regime.
Let us hope that our government, in keeping with the spirit of democracy and support to human values, will come in open to revive India’s policies of upholding human values and opposing oppression, atrocities and warmongeringof the butcher of Gaza and the greatest and most obnoxious child killer of the 21st century.
