Inner-Wear or Only-Wear

A prominent Hindi news-channel made a half-an-hour coverage of fashion-show Triumph-2008 at Bangalore depicting female-models in show of their semi-nude bodies in ‘attractive’ inner-wears. What is the meaning of ‘inner-wear’ if these become the only-wear before general public?

Is there any logic in allowing fashion-parades in dresses which otherwise are not worn in public? Only recently, media glorified extensively a unique protest by Pooja Chouhan in Pune to attract attention towards torture by her in-laws with many even suggesting case against the victim for obscenity. Should organisers and models in ‘inner-wear’ fashion-parade not be booked for obscenity in public?

India, where major religions including Hinduism, Islam and Sikhism do not allow such ugly show of female-bodies, should follow Islamic nations like Pakistan where even swim-suit rounds are not permitted in beauty contests. Afghanistan even after freeing itself from Taliban regime considered it appropriate to boycott the Afghan-born girl settled abroad for her participating in an international pageant with swim-suit round.
