The city magistrate of Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh started inquiry intothe fake encounter of a Haryana boy, Shabbir Ahmad.Shabbir was killed in a staged encounter when he was passing through the Mathura district with his brother on 20 February this year. Subsequently, a policeman approached the deceased’s village and claimed shamelessly before the Sarpanch of the village, Mumtaz Ali, to have killed Shabbir and 16 others in different fake encounters. He had also warned of similar consequences if anyone tried taking the matter to media.
Earlier, the police had denied submitting the copy of the FIR and the same was obtained after intervention of the court. The details of post mortem report are still to be made public.
