AMU to launch its own satellite

The Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe), a part of the Indian government’s Department of Space, has given the green light to AMU’s proposal to develop its first satellite. This pioneering satellite is dedicated to the memory of the university’s founder, Sir Syed Ahmad Khan. This achievement represents a significant step forward for AMU in the field of space exploration and satellite technology.

The satellite, officially named “SS AMU SAT” is a project that has been in the making since November 2021, initiated by the AMU Robo Club. This nanosatellite, which falls under the category of a 3U CubeSat, serves various purposes, including economic growth analysis in India’s most underprivileged regions through satellite imagery. Additionally, it aims to implement an in-house image compression technology for faster multimedia transmission and undertake extensive testing of various in-house built sub-systems.

JIH Assam-North hosts 2-day Tarbiyati and Tanzeemi program

Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) Assam North Zone opened a two-day Tarbiyati and Tanzeemi program for its selected members and workers in Guwahati on November 4. The program aims to develop leadership qualities among the selected cadre of the organisation. There will be different interactive sessions in the program, which will come to an end on November 5.The Chief Guests of the program are Mrs. Shaista Rafat, JIH National Secretary; and Mrs. Sumaiya Maryam, JIH Assistant National Secretary.

National seminar on Mirza Ghalib held in Tamil Nadu

A national seminar on the world-renowned Urdu poet Mirza Ghalib concluded in Tamil Nadu on October 29, with a focus on strengthening Ghalib’s relationship with South India. A 3-day national seminar titled “Ghalib Studies in Southern India” was organized by the Ghalib Institute, New Delhi, in collaboration with C. Abdul Hakeem College in Melvisharam, Tamil Nadu. The seminar was inaugurated by Ms. S. Valarmathi, District Collector of Ranipet, at the C. Abdul Hakeem College auditorium in Melvisharam on October 29.

In her inaugural address, the district collector lauded Urdu as a language with a rich culture that immediately impresses with its sense of belonging and respect for all. She said, “Anyone who knows anything about this sweet language cannot be unaware of Ghalib’s name.”

Seemanchal, Champaran get major share in minority entrepreneurship scheme

Three districts of Seemanchal – Purnia, Araria and Kishanganj and two Champarans – East and West – got the major share in Bihar’s minority entrepreneurship scheme. A total of 1247 minority entrepreneurs were selected for financial help by the Bihar government’s industries department out of a total 28260 applicants. This was announced in Patna on October 30. The scheme called MukhyamantriAlpsankhyak Udyami Yojna (Chief Minister Minority Entrepreneur Scheme) provides financial help of up to ten lakh rupees. Half of the loan amount is waived off as a subsidy while the other half is required to be paid in 84 instalments. There is a fund of Rs. 100 crores for this scheme.This is the first disbursement of loan under this scheme. Applications were sought between 5 to 20

October this year.
