Jamiat Ulama Launches Largescale Relief Work, Repair Work of Vandalised Mosques in Mewat

After visiting the violence-hit Mewat region of Haryana, a delegation of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind has started reconstructing and restoring mosques, which were vandalised during the violence. The delegation said that one mosque was totally burnt while 13 others were partially damaged by the miscreants. They also burnt religious books of the Muslim community and assaulted members of Tablighi Jamaat, the delegation added.

The relief work in the riot-affected areas includes pursuing legal remedies and conducting surveys. After assessing the damages in the riots, the Jamiat has set up relief teams, legal cells, and survey teams. So far, the delegation has visited 13 damaged mosques including six mosques in Palwal, three in Hodal, three in Sohna, and one in Gurugram, where the unfortunate incident of the brutal killing of a deputy imam happened.
