Visiting Iranian Energy Minister Parviz Fattah conferred with his Turkish counterpart Hilmi Guler on expansion of mutual cooperation in the electricity and water sectors. Speaking in a joint press conference, the two ministers described the results of their talks as very ‘positive, constructive and promising’. Iranian energy minister heading a high ranking delegation had arrived in Turkey. Hilmi Guler said the two sides exchanged information on water and electricity mainly for generating and transferring electricity, construction of dams and power plants. There are good grounds for expansion of bilateral cooperation in the energy sector, he said. Iran is a very capable and powerful country in the region and Turkey plays a significant role in the region.
Iran welcomes the active presence of Turkish investors in electricity and water sectors, the Minister said.
