The party which came to power with a plethora of promises has brought the country to a very sorry state. The internal and external challenges are steadily and dangerously increasing. Day to day life problems are becoming difficult and unbearable for large segments of society. Doling out a few kilos of grains for 80 crore people is not the solution to this debilitating problem. As promised by Mr. Modi eleven years should have created 22 crore new jobs. At the most 2 to 3 crore jobs would have been created in these 11 years.
To small farmers agricultural production has become largely unprofitable. The frightened farmers are trooping in towns and cities. But the labour wages are not increasing satisfactorily. Farmers, especially small and marginal ones, feel that they are struck between the devil and the deep sea.
Add to this the skyrocketing inflation. The government has been so callous that a few years back it imposed a 5% GST on all packaged items of common use. It includes even biscuits, milk, curd and salt. No one and nothing is out of the net of GST.
Our engineering colleges have produced engineers, most of whom are unemployable. They are serving as delivery boys and auto drivers. Thousands of desperate youth have been forced to take menial jobs in the war-torn Israel. The government is at its wits’ end to tackle the problem of 12 million youth who are entering job market every year. This is resulting in frustration, anger and extremist tendencies among the youth. It is very dangerous for our future.
Even the highest functionaries of our so-called “mother of democracy” have poisoned the minds of the majority of population who have been continuously fed on ‘we’ versus ‘they’, ‘ghuspethias’, ‘multiple child producers’, ‘mangal sutra snatchers who are snatching your rotis, abducting your betis and capturing your lands’.
Scores of Adanis and Ambanis have been created who have been proved to be a source of American pressure on our foreign relations and global reputation.
Our prejudiced policy and silence on Gaza genocide and atrocities on West Bank Palestinians has enraged the 57 members of OIC counties. Iran had been our supporter even on Kashmir issue. But our wrong attitude has estranged even that friend of long standing. It is being predicted that Foreign Minister Jaishankar is being shown the door and Shashi Tharoor is expected to be appointed for this onerous job. The poor fellowMr. Jaishankaris being made a sacrificial goat. The PM and the PMO should have been made responsible for the foreign policy fiasco.
The present dispensation is also responsible for spoiling the intricate relation between the centre and the federal states. This may produce very dangerous results for the integrity and solidarity of the country. The present regime is just like a lame duck government which is dragging itself with two crutches provided by Nitish and Naidu.
The greatest fear is the loss of hope among the common people and degeneration in the political class and the inability of our judiciary to uphold the rule of law. India is not in a position to keep itself safe in the gathering storm of degeneration of the entire population for which the present government and the political class is solely responsible.
