After Tunisians the brave brothers of Egypt have risen in revolt against the tyrannical dispensation which has enslaved them for more than half a century. The people of Egypt have been scripting the charter of freedom and a bright future not only for themselves but for the entire Arab lands, which form the heart of Islamic world. This also underlines the end of American and western interference in the affairs of Muslim world.
The Arab countries in spite of gaining independence in the second half of the 20th century could not free themselves from the influence of western machinations. They were not allowed to shape their individual and collective life in the light of Islam.
Now, welcome winds of change are sweeping most of the Arab countries specially Jordan, Yemen, Syria and Morocco.
American and western double standards regarding democracy and human rights stand fully exposed as it were they who had always been supporting the dictators and their repressive regimes in the Arab world. Every students of recent history fully knows how America and its infamous CIA have been playing their nefarious games of imposing dictators and supporting their henchmen in Latin America, Africa, Asia, and wherever they get a chance to do this.
Ikhwan-ul-Muslimoon, the Islamic movement, which has done commendable service to present Islam as a viable alternative and has strong roots in the entire Arab world, has been the worst victim of this west-sponsored repression. Its leaders and cadres and even those who have even a shred of sympathy for it suffered worst atrocities with the approval of the western masters who are never tired of praising democracy and human rights.
In the changed circumstances, the IKhwan, for the first time, would be in a position to guide the masses and channel their energies to reconstruct the Arab world and strengthen Islam.
It is a good sign that even America has realised that it is no longer in a position to stem the tide of Islamic resurgence in the Arab world. US president Obama feels obliged to support quick departure of Mubarak to enable restoration of democracy in Egypt.
America should avoid the mistake of imposing its yes man on Egypt again as it would not be acceptable to the people there. It is in the interest of the Arabs, the Muslim Ummah, and the entire humanity that Arabs should be given the freedom to shape their destiny in an atmosphere of freedom and liberty so that they reclaim their Islamic roots and show to the world what is Islamic way life and how its implementation can be a recipe for peace, prosperity and success.
