Much of the world was enslaved and occupied by foreign slave masters until before World War II. End of World War II brought independence to many lands and peoples of the world, including India, but not the Muslims. Muslims had to wait for decades to breathe the air of freedom in their own lands.
Many of the Muslims are fighting for their most basic human and political rights even today. The Islamic uprisings sweeping parts of the Muslim world are an attempt by Muslims to win their independence – over 65 years to the end of World War II, when everyone else got their independence.
ARAB SPRING: A SLAVE EXPRESSION
Also, slaves are slaves not only in their bodies but also in their minds and it shows in the thoughts they think and the language they use. Muslims have been slaves for centuries and their language often reflects their slave mind.
Free people, on the other hand, are masters of not only their own bodies, lands and resources but also of their mind, thoughts and language. The expression “Arab Spring” to denote the Islamic uprisings sweeping many Muslim lands over the past some decades is an example of slave use of language.
CZECHOSLOVAKIA’S FAILED REVOLUTION OF 1968
Whether this was a deliberate reference on the part of the slave masters who own Muslim lands, resources and cultures to the failed Czechoslovakian Revolution of 1968 to “jinx” the Islamic uprisings in the Muslim lands and demoralise the Muslims is open to debate. What is unmistakable is that these uprisings have been clearly Islamic in their origin as well as in their direction, at least in the short term.
What these Islamic Uprisings show is that Muslims as a people have finally returned to their roots of Islam, even though all kinds of forces are aligned against them and they are working together to keep Muslims from realising their true Muslim identity and from winning full and unrestricted political and economic freedom and independence for themselves and their lands.
IRAN’S ISLAMIC REVOLUTION
Iran’s Shah brutalised the Iranian Muslims for over 25 years. And then in 1979, the Muslims of Iran rose up and overthrew the Shah and his slave masters and established what they claimed was an Islamic Republic. Their victorious cry to describe their new revolutionary regime was: La Sharqiyyah wa La Gharbiyyah, Islamiyyah, Islamiyyah, which means: “Not of the East or of the West, but purely Islamic.”
Pretty much everything that has happened in much of the world ever since is a direct or indirect reaction to the chain of Islamic events in Iran starting with the Islamic Revolution of 1979.
ALGERIAN ELECTIONS
Algerians, who had waged a protracted brutal and bloody war for their independence from France, wanted to do it the nice and peaceful way. In early 1990s, advocates of an Islamic way of life in Algeria entered national elections and handily won the first round.
The second round was all but theirs to take. But the military intervened, cancelled the elections and plunged Algeria into a civil war that lasted a decade and killed and wounded hundreds of thousands.
A NEW AND SPECIAL
ELECTORAL LAW FOR MUSLIMS
In elections all over the world, whoever wins a majority forms the government. That is how the general law of elections and democracy operates around the world.
But the electoral law applied to Muslims seems to say: You are welcome to participate in elections so long as you don’t win a majority and do not lay claim to form a government of your own.
This law was applied with special vigour in remnants of Palestine that Islamic Hamas, an offshoot of Muslim Brotherhood, won. Instead of winning admiration and support, that electoral victory made them the target of renewed assault and aggression from all sides.
CULTURAL GENOCIDE IN TURKEY
Turkey had been quietly simmering after 80 years of brutalisation of its Islamic people by the military and by a regime that had committed Cultural Genocide on its own people, an act of barbarism unprecedented in the annals of human history.
The regime had banned the people’s “religion”; banished their language; changed their national script; disconnected them from their own history; and forced an alien new dress code on them.
But then in the early 2000s, the Turkish people quietly elected a government with avowed Islamic roots and moorings, combining in one broad stroke democracy with Islam.
TUNISIA
Tunisia had been a pliant slave Muslim state for decades. But then all of a sudden something happened and a revolution broke out and the Islamic elements emerged victorious.
Its notorious dictator Ben Ali, who had plundered Tunisia for over 20 years to benefit his slave masters, ran off and took refuge in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
YEMEN: A SPECIAL CASE
Yemen bubbled and boiled. Blood flew in torrents, but democracy and revolution were not considered the right recipe for Yemen as it was cheek-by-jowl with Saudi Arabia, the ultimate Line-in-the-Sand Client State and world’s own bottomless oil pit.
So, Yemen petered out; Islamic elements were crushed or contained; and its brutal dictator of over 30 years was quietly packed off to some undisclosed luxury resort to be replaced by another one just like him, who will show his true colours of dictatorship and depravity in due course, on cue from his slave masters.
Same was true of Bahrain, home to US Sixth Fleet, and the uprising there, also with a fair Islamic leavening, was crushed by a foreign invasion by neighbouring Saudi Arabia.
EGYPT: THE BIG PRIZE
Egypt is the big prize in all of this equation.
Egypt had endured 60 years of one brutal military dictatorship after another. On top of that, Egyptians had been living under Military Emergency Law for an unbroken period of 30 years.
And then the Egyptians, led by the Muslim Brotherhood (Al-Ikhwan Al-Muslimoon) did what no one thought was possible: they launched a full-fledged revolution in 2011.
And in doing so, again what no one thought was possible, they made their revolution 100 per cent peaceful – at least on their side. In the course of the revolution, thousands of them were killed by the brutal military regime of Mubarak, but they did not raise a finger to fight back.
In the face of impossible odds, the Ikhwan swept the ensuing elections for both houses of parliament and their candidate Dr. Morsi eked out a narrow and most unlikely victory in a hard-fought race for president against a former general and prime minister.
IRAQ
The Islamic people of Iraq were brutalised by Saddam for years. But then when the Islamic Revolution in Iran appeared to take hold, Saddam was egged on by all the surrounding and some not-so-close slave Muslim states to invade Iran. European and other slave masters provided weapons and intelligence support.
Everyone thought it will be a matter of only a few days before Iran folded, but the Iranians fought on for eight long and brutal years, losing millions killed and maimed. Iraq now has an elected government of sorts with Islamic elements active both inside and outside government.
AFGHANISTAN
Islamic elements in Afghanistan defeated and dismantled the Soviet Union with help from the United States. And then they fought among themselves in one bloody civil war after another till the Taliban, a group with an avowed Islamic outlook and agenda, brought a semblance of order to their much-abused land.
But then the Taliban fell out of favour with the United States and were ousted in a military invasion by the US and its allies.
Afghanistan is still paying the price for all that they did, or did not do, over the past three decades. They are part of what may be called the collateral damage for the Islamic Revolution of Iran.
43 YEARS OF DICTATORSHIP IN LIBYA
All kinds of forces, both domestic and foreign, coalesced to end the 43-year-old dictatorship of Qaddafi in Libya. Even though Islamic elements have been active in Libya right from the outset – going back 40-plus years – and many of them such as Col. Ahmad Ahwas, Allah bless him, died fighting for freedom for their land, it is not the Islamic elements that won the elections in post-liberation Libya.
A broad liberal coalition of sorts, consisting of over 40 different political parties and activist groups, kept the Islamic elements from winning an outright victory in elections, but the Islamic party came in second nevertheless, and its influence in Libyan life and politics is bound to be significant over the coming years.
THE VERY SPECIAL CASE OF SYRIA
Syria is burning and the Islamic elements in Syria who were most brutally butchered by the former dictator Hafez al-Assad are now being butchered by his son. But just like Yemen and Bahrain, the situation in Syria is a bit more complex than most people understand.
Syria is not only a dictatorship ruled by the son of a former dictator it is also a close ally of Iran. And Iran has been the thorn in the side of all the former slave masters from England to France, and especially Israel and her friends and allies, both in the region and beyond.
It is not only the United States that wants democracy in Syria, which is understandable. What is of special interest is that among those financing and arming the fighters for democracy in Syria is a motley crew of Saudi Arabia and Qatar and Jordan, each of them an absolute hereditary dictatorship and not one of them with any pretensions to any kind of democratic norms or values in their own lands and for their own people.
These Muslim slave states are joined in this crusade for democracy in Syria by Israel.
ROLE OF RUSSIA AND CHINA
That is part of the reason why Russia and China have taken a stand against forcing a regime change in Syria the way it was done in Iraq. They see the fall of the Syrian regime as signaling a march of the United States, Israel and their client states in the region such as Saudi Arabia and Qatar and Jordan to Lebanon and then from there on to Iran.
This, the way Russia and China seem to see it, will complete the full circle of events from Iran’s invasion by Iraq in 1980, and its subsequent encirclement from all sides, to finally the destruction of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
A NEW ISLAMIC MILLENNIUM
These Islamic uprisings, taken together, mark the dawn of a new Islamic Millennium.
This will be a long-lasting era of world peace, national reconciliation and international cooperation and coexistence, inspired and guided by the Islamic ideals of non-aggression and mutual respect of the kind that was heralded by Fath Makkah (The Opening of the City State of Makkah for Muslims by God) when Prophet Muhammad, Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam, addressed his worst enemies of 23 years and said:
La Tathreeba ‘Alaikumul Yawum. Idh-Haboo, Antum At-Tulaqaa’!
Paraphrase: You are free to go. There shall be no settling of accounts with you today!
In this new Islamic Millennium, the world will breathe a new air of freedom, justice, love and compassion for all.
