Many reports have been released by analytical institutions which confirm that the coalition forces could have avoided killing of three of their soldiers at the Al-Tanf base on the Syrian-Jordanian-Iraqi border. They were targeted by resistance missiles, which should be a reason for their swift exit from Syria and Iraq. They could have reduced the risks faced by their armies deployed in the Middle East. An escalation process carried out by them mistakenly may lead to increased tension and confrontations.

The mission for which the international coalition forces have come to the region has ended with the end of the ISIS terrorist gangs. Modern technologies can be used for monitoring the region through permanent military bases in Türkiye, Qatar or Kuwait, instead of entering into a conflict which might push the region into an uncontrollable war which will not end quickly. Its impact will be more severe on the international coalition, which does not want any fight to cost it the loss of more lives among its soldiers.

There are still some ideas which support the hypothesis that the strikes directed at military bases in Syria and Iraq provide security for the international coalition forces, and that the threat recedes with such strikes. But this analysis does not stand up to the reality of the region, and the nature of the military force present in it. It misunderstands the nature of the region, the challenges and risks stored there. Therefore, it has become necessary to look at the future of the region without the international coalition. This is because many countries want the American forces to leave, including Türkiye, Iraq and Syria. The Syrian people are suffering from a stifling economic siege due to Washington’s sanctions, in addition to the presence of American forces which is occupying 30 percent of Syrian territory and stealing oil from its wells.

The Iraqi government was subjected to a lot of provocations by the American presence in the country, particularly after targeting a number of leaders of the Popular Mobilization Forces, which led to an escalation in the pace of attacks launched by resistance factions on military bases, whether in Iraq or the entire region in general. Washington also found itself in a direct confrontation with the Iraqi government, as the Popular Mobilization Forces is one of the military formations affiliated with the security forces headed by the Commander-in-Chief of Iraq’s Armed Forces. It means that the confrontation has become clear and direct.

Burning the region will neither solve any of its problems nor will it resolve any dispute between the conflicting countries, particularly with the endless support for Tel Aviv in its war against the Palestinian people, specifically in Gaza. This is what has fuelled anti-Western sentiments throughout the world, and the resistance forces in the region cannot win over it or defeat it by force and revengeful strikes, particularly with the state of injustice to which the peoples of the region have been exposed. Nobody can rely much on the idea of the presence of American soldiers in camps in the desert spread across large areas merely with hopes that cannot be achieved. Neither the peoples will accept this nor the governments will continue to support them and protect them.
