Israel stands isolated in the worldview

Mr. Netanyahu has changed his narrative many a time. He had claimed that he will not stop until Hamas is wiped out completely. But the well-equipped army couldn’t even eliminate 5-10% of Hamas. Due to immense pressure from the domestic public to release the hostages and mounting IDF causality in Gaza, the ruthless, heartless occupying Zionist State of Israel has proposed a two-month pause. Not a permanent ‘ceasefire’. This is not in any case a change of heart, but to reduce their own casualties, for IDF to lose 200 soldiers and 5000 seriously wounded is a serious matter. For them killing over 26000 civilians, mostly children and women is no big deal.

Mr. Netanyahu has changed his narrative many a time. He had claimed that he will not stop until Hamas is wiped out completely. But the well-equipped army couldn’t even eliminate 5-10% of Hamas. So instead, they massacred helpless civilians to show back home that they have avenged the 7th Oct attack. Israel has lost the moral war, and is now isolated in the worldview. Along with them the US, too.

On the Iran-Pak Conflict

As if the waging war in the Gaza Strip between Hamas and Israel was not enough, now a conflict has broken out between Iran and our neighbour Pakistan. A day after Iran conducted missile and drone strikes against targets in the Baloch territory. Pakistan has hit back killing 9 people in terrorist hideouts on the Iran border. Afghanistan on its part has been simmering for long.

It’s time leaders of the countries in this region held a dialogue among themselves about the reasons why peace continues to be as elusive as ever. Precious resources – financial, military or otherwise – should not be squandered on such battles and should be utilised for the good of the common people of the region.

Drug alert good

It is good that the government has issued an alert about a drug which is widely used as a painkiller. In an age where people pop pills at will instead of making that trip to the doctor to find out whether they are consuming the right medicine or not, such monitoring of drugs and their effects has become all the more necessary. There are also many people who instead of visiting the doctor, prefer to go to the nearest medical shop and get medicine for their ailments.

This practice which has become widespread, should also be discouraged as it may sometimes have unforeseen consequences.
