“The issue of child labour should be taken up seriously by everyone including enforcing authorities and the general public, said Prof. P. K. Abdul Azis, Vice Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University while sharing the national concern on eradication of child labour. Prof. Azis lauded the NGO which launched a Postcard Campaign to draw the attention to the loss of childhood due to child labour. He had earlier given standing instructions in this regard but due to social situation children are still engaged to work in private establishments around. “A social problem of this nature could be completely controlled if everyone comes forward and address the issue with a sense of responsibility,” he added.
