It wasn’t ‘Manmohanamics’

Contrary to the misinterpretation that UPA’s victory is an approval to the economic policies proposed by Dr. Manmohan Singh, it is explicitly the vote for stability and a verdict against communalism.

Contrary to the misinterpretation that UPA’s victory is an approval to the economic policies proposed by Dr. Manmohan Singh, it is explicitly the vote for stability and a verdict against communalism. Actually, the pro-people agenda of the Left parties which forced the previous government to implement schemes like NREGA, Forest Tribal bill and Right to Information Act, have worked as a blessing in disguise for UPA’s return to power. And certainly, it was not ‘Manmohanamics’ which saved the country from the direct impact of global recession…but the Left’s persistent refusal to allow neo-liberal reforms in sectors like insurance, banking and pension.  It is another matter, that the Left has committed the cardinal sin by colluding with undependable politicians like Deve Gowda, Jayalalithaa and Mayawati in the name of “third front” which was not perceived as a stable alternative to the Congress-led UPA.
