Commenting on the drama of “Sadbhavana Fast” that had been staged by the Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, the Secretary for Public Relations, Engineer Mohd Saleem of Jamaat-e-Islami said that this act is just an attempt to woo the masses. He said the masses of the country are not naïve and could not be swayed away by such gimmicks played by Modi.
The Jamaat leader went ahead and said that instead of the Prime Minister’s chair, the right place for Modi is jail and if he is true to his claims of Sadbhavna (compassion) then he must accept the wrongs he had done and repent for them from behind the bars. The Jamaat leader said Modi is responsible for the genocide of Muslims in the 2002 riots and his hands are stained with the blood of the innocent Muslims. Modi was unable to fulfil his duties as the head of the state and all his claims and talks about Sadbhavana and goodwill do not carry any weight unless he repents for what he had done.
