In a press statement, Mr. Ali said it was an illegal, unjust act of Delhi Development Authority (DDA). It is the sign of anti-Muslim feeling of the Government. The Noor Mosque was there in khasras – number 633 which consists of 6 Bigha and 13 Bisva lands, which is graveyard, belonging to Muslims since pre-Independence days. The land khasras – number 633 is registered to Delhi Waqf Board in the notification of Delhi Gazette dated December 25, 1975. This is the land of Delhi Waqf Board at which the Noor Mosque was built 30 years ago.

The Jamaat has demanded from the government that all Waqf lands in possession of DDA should be vacated. According to the information provided by Delhi Waqf Board to the Jamaat-e-Islami, there are 114 properties of Delhi Waqf Board which is captured by the DDA and 172 by Archaeological Ministry and also there are many which are captured by other authorised bodies.
