Jamaat-e-Islami Hind—under the banner of Assam Relief Works— has been in relief work in the riot affected area of BTAD in Assam. It distributed utensils, clothes, sarees, lungis, blankets, tarpaulin, tents and food items among the riot affected along with organising hundreds of medical camps and distributing books and notebooks among students in the area. The Jamaat has undertaken scheme of construction of 325 homes and 8 mosques. Besides, Jamaat’s Legal Cell helped more than 700 people file their FIRs against the miscreants and provided other legal assistance. Presently, the Jamaat runs 87 Madrasas in BTAD area. It has provided livelihood for the affected families and also helped them cultivate 500 Bigha lands and has given seeds to farmers.
