The Uttar Pradesh (West) and Uttarakhand zones of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind along with Students Islamic Organisation of India, on 25 June, started its relief work in the flood affected areas of Uttarakhand. The relief camp of the Jamaat at Haridwar railway station was inaugurated by the Railway Superintendent, Mr. GK Das. It consists of a team of five doctors with different specialisations and a mobile hospital equipped with all necessary machinery and facilities for treatment and even operation. Crowds of survivors are lining up at the camp. Besides the Haridwar relief camp, the Jamaat has sent some other teams comprising Jamaat leaders, members and former DSP Mohammad Waseem to Dehradun and Rishikesh to conduct a survey of the devastated areas and to reach even to the remotest stranded persons.

Meanwhile, the SIO has planned to conduct a Fund Raising drive only in the educational campuses for the victims. The Jamaat is apparently the first Muslim organisation to start relief work in the area.

The state president of the Jamaat and In-charge of the relief work, Maulana Inamullah Islahi, has appealed to the citizens to donate for the flood victims in the following accounts:
