Acting Secretary-General Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Syed Ghulam Akber has expressed his deep sense of grief and grave concern on the serial blasts near the courthouses of Lucknow, Varanasi and Faizabad and the death and destruction they caused.
In a statement released on November 24, the Jamaat leader said, “Those who violate peace in the country with such acts of terror are undoubtedly the greatest enemy of the country as well as humanity. They should know that they would never succeed in their unholy mission with such cruel acts.”
Drawing the attention of the government and administrative machinery, he noted, “Law and order has been deteriorating day by day as a result of which no place is free from danger and every person has started feeling unprotected. No efforts are being made to let the investigations into such tragedies go the way they deserve; hence people’s loss of confidence in the investigating machinery of the government.”
The Jamaat leader urged the government to issue express orders for just and unprejudiced investigation into these blasts, bringing the culprits to book, and for restraining government and police officials from making irresponsible and unverified statements.

Expressing his sympathy with the heirs and relations of those killed and rendered injured in the blasts, Mr. Akber demanded due compensation to be given to them.
