Jamia Masjid Comes to Help Other Mosques

Bengaluru, March 12: President of the Jamia Masjid in Chintamani town, Mr. Ghouse Pasha has announced to extend a helping hand to all the 18 mosques that come under the purview of the Jamia Masjid. In a meeting of the Jamia Masjid Committee it was unanimously decided to share the income of the Masjid from the commercial establishments that are let out to merchants with other masjids in town, he said.

Mr. Pasha said an amount of Rs. 10,000 would be provided to all the mosques every month for developmental works. If things go well, the mosques of the entire Taluka will be covered in future, he said.

A mercantile hub in Chikbalapur district of Karnataka, Chintamani is just 85 kilometres from Bengaluru. With a substantial Muslim population, the town has dozens of Mosques to cater to the growing needs of the community.

Mr. Pasha also said about five acres of land of the Masjid which was under illegal occupation was reclaimed through legal course of action. The illegal occupants were vacated and the land is back into Masjid’s possession. A residential school under Murarji Desai or Abdul Kalam scheme would be established in the reoccupied land, he added.
