JIH Ameer Launches Digital Version of Radiance Archive

Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Syed Sadatullah Husaini launched the digital version of Radiance Viewsweeklyarchive during the ongoing Jamaat’s Markazi Majlis-e Numaindagan (Council of Representatives) session at the Jamaat headquarters on April 29.

Addressing the Jamaat leaders and members of its 162-member Council of Representatives, who were there to complete election process of JIH Ameer and its Markazi Majlis-e Shoora (Central Advisory Council), Dr.Waquar Anwar,Secretary of The Board of Islamic Publications, under which Radiance is published, informed the gathering about the journey of the magazine since 1963 and the progress it has made so far.He said that from July 1963 to November 1995 Radiance was published in tabloid format; thereafter it is being published in standard magazine size. In July 2006, it added eight pages to its volume, making it a 36-page magazine.

Many national and international research scholars, including those fromthe University of Oxford, have visited the office of the magazine to complete their research works on issues pertaining to Indian Muslims and benefited from the archives of Radiance. The digitisation of Radiance will help scholars, writers and researchers to complete their works more easily now. Some prominent Muslims, including former diplomat Syed Shahabuddin were of the opinion that one cannot complete his work on Indian Muslims without visiting archives of Radiance Viewsweekly.
