In a letter to Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Syed Munawwar Hasan, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Omari expressed deep sorrow and paid condolences over the death of Professor Ghafoor Ahmed. The JIH chief, who had met Professor Ghafoor during the former’s recent trip to Pakistan, wrote that the news of death came as a shock to him. Recalling his caring words and humbleness, he prayed to Allah to grant him His forgiveness and highest possible place in Paradise and bestow patience upon his relatives, friends and well-wishers.

Praising his endeavours in the field of religion, the JIH leader wrote that death is inevitable; however it is commendable that when a person moves to meet his Lord, he finds that he spent his whole life seeking the pleasure of Allah. Prof. Ghafoor worked to make the Deen of Allah the most high and completed his covenant with God. It must be expected from Allah, the merciful and kind, that He would be pleased with him and forgive him. Prof. Ghafoor remained loyal to the organisation and worked with the founder of Jamaat-e-Islami, Maulana Syed Abul A’la Maudoodi. Though he was at a higher position in the Central Ministry in his country, he remained simple and down to earth. He utilised his tongue and pen to disseminate the message of Islam and his struggle for disseminating the truth would always be remembered and would serve as footprints for other members of the organisation.
