A delegation of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind met senior Iranian representatives in New Delhi and expressed condolences over the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The delegation also condemned the recent US-Israel military strikes on Iran.
The delegation included JIH President Syed Sadatullah Husaini, Vice President Prof. Salim Engineer, and National Secretary I Karimullah. They met Dr. Mohammad Fathali, Ambassador of Iran to India. The meeting also included Ayatollah Dr. Abdul Majid Hakim Elahi, representative of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei in India, and Hujjat al Islam Agha Ziaei, deputy to the representative of the Supreme Leader.
During the meeting, the delegation expressed condolences over what they described as the martyrdom of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Husaini stated that Khamenei’s life and sacrifice would inspire people who struggle for justice and freedom across the world.
The JIH leader condemned the US-Israel military action against Iran. He described the strikes as a violation of international law and moral principles. He also expressed solidarity with the people of Iran and praised their resilience and courage during the conflict.
Husaini called for an end to the conflict through dialogue and diplomacy. He urged global actors to work toward peace and stability in the region.
The delegation concluded the meeting with prayers for peace, security, and prosperity across the region.
