A high-level delegation of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) visited Bareilly to assess the situation following reports of arbitrary arrests, demolition notices, and the sealing of business establishments.

The delegation, led by Malik Motasim Khan, National Vice President of JIH, included I. Karimullah, Nadeem Khan, Laeeq Ahmed, Zameerul Hasan (President, JIH UP West), and several lawyers and officials.

The team toured affected areas, met families of detainees, and documented their grievances. Many victims shared that despite possessing valid property papers and digital evidence proving their non-involvement in any disturbances, they continue to face harassment, police excesses, and politically motivated actions. Notices for demolition and sealing, the delegation noted, were issued without following due legal process.

The team also reviewed legal proceedings with advocates to explore appropriate remedies and ensure justice through constitutional means. Attempts to meet the DM and SP to raise concerns were made, but officials reportedly did not respond positively.

Reaffirming JIH’s commitment to justice, constitutional values, and peaceful civic engagement, Malik Motasim Khan demanded the immediate withdrawal of politically motivated FIRs, the release of detainees lacking credible evidence, and accountability for police excesses. He urged the authorities to ensure impartial investigations and uphold citizens’ rights.
