Jamaat-e-Islami Hind has asked the Rajasthan government to return 62 illegally and unlawfully occupied properties of the wakf to the State Wakf Board. The incident of illegal occupation came to light when Assistant Secretary Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Mr. Intizar Naeem, filed an RTI to the chief secretary of the Rajasthan government. It came to light that 62 of the wakf properties had been illegally occupied by 16 different ministries of the state.

Later, separate letters were sent to all the 16 ministries demanding the return of the properties. It was sad that except one ministry none even bothered to send a reply. Seeing the no-response from the side of the ministries, JIH headquarters has now written letters to chief minister Ashok Gehlot, Governor Ms Margrate Alwa and to the chairman of the Minority Commission. In a letter, JIH has expressed hope that the state government would act fast so as to compensate for the losses it has done.
