While expressing satisfaction over the recent recognition of Palestine as a non-member state, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umari has called the move by the United Nations a just step towards the recognition of other valid rights of the Palestinians. The support of 138 nations out of 193 for the cause of Palestine indicates that the whole world has now realised the brutalities and terrorism of the Israelis on the innocent Palestinians and he hoped that a day will also come when Palestine would be given the permanent membership in the United Nations. Commending the role of India for the cause of Palestine at the UN, the Jamaat leader hoped that India would keep up its old values and traditions and would stand for the cause of Palestine.
