Jamaat-e-Islami Hind’s Maharashtra state has launched 10-day state-wide campaign ‘Darkness to Light’ to promote peace and humanity and to urge people to shun hatred and materialism.

Talking to reporters in Aurangabad on January 23, its co-ordinator Mr. Naushad Usman said the ‘Darkness to Light’ campaign was launched on Friday (22nd January 2021). He said, “It has become more relevant in these times when polarisation has become a ‘political tool’ and the COVID-19 pandemic has also triggered a quest for spirituality. Its objective is to save our society from the darkness of ignorance, hatred and materialism, and move it towards the light of knowledge and understanding.”

The campaign aims to reach out to people from all castes and faiths across the state through print, electronic and social media and also personally to convey the message wherever possible, he added. Several programmes are being held in various cities and districts of the state.
