On August 29, 2011, Dr. Kausar Yazdani Nadwi, a prolific Hindi writer and journalist and a veteran leader of Jammat-e-Islami Hind died at the age of 75. Mr. Yazdani remained the editor of Kanti (a monthly Hindi magazine)for a pretty long time, and he also remained Ameer of Delhi and Haryana circle before joining Markaz as Secretary for Dawah. Apart from translating into HindiSayyidAbulAlaMaududi’sTalkheesTafheemul Quran, he translated a lot of books on Ahadith, Quran and seerah into Hindi. Mr. Yazdani earned the degree of doctorate in mysticism (Tasawwuf) in Hindi and has penned a lot of books of his own, which have received wide acceptance in Hindi circles.
Dr. Yazdani was an exceptional journalist as well as a fiction writer and did exceptionally well when given the responsibility of Delhi and Haryana circle. He expanded the influence of the movement very swiftly in these areas. Dr. Yazdani was a very influential person and was known for his soft and humble nature and was loved and liked by all.
The Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Mr. Nusrat Ali said the sad demise of Dr. Yazdani is a great loss for the Ummah and proclaimed Dr. Yazdani as a great writer, who spent his entire life for the establishment of Deen, using Hindi as a medium. The Jamaat leader prayed for the acceptance of all his deeds and a place for him in Jannatul Firdaus.
