The Supreme Court on October 19 granted bail to Syed Mohammad Ahmad Kazmi, a senior journalist who had been arrested by Special Cell of Delhi Police for his alleged involvement in planning attack on Israeli diplomat’s car in February 2012. The court asked him to surrender his passport and not to leave Delhi without informing the court. Mr. Kazmi had been in jail since March 6.
After having been released from Tihar Jail, Kazmi said it was true that he had been writing in favour of Iran and criticised the foreign policies of America and Israel. He wrote in one of his writings that there’s no need to be afraid of Israeli Army as the Hezbollah has proved its weakness. But these all did not mean that he was going to attack on the diplomat.
As the news of him being granted bail spread out, a large number of his friends, well-wishers and family members gathered around Tihar Jail to get a glimpse of their hero. Mr. Kazmi later visited Markaz Jamaat-e-Islami Hind in New Delhi and thanked for helping him getting bail.
